There are no two ways about it: if the Realm of New Zealand joins the US led naval force in the Red Sea it will become an active participant in the Gaza war on the side of the State of Israel. That would be totally unacceptable to the vast majority of New Zealanders, and proof positive that the pseudo-democracy of the colonialist regime is nothing more than a sham.

Only ten nations supported the Anglo-American bombing of Yemen. That is down from the 14 who subscribed to the Anglo-American "Joint Statement" of 3 January on the subject of Yemen, and well down on the 20 countries which the US claims support the US "Operation Prosperity Guardian". There may be ten other states that are so afraid of US power that they will tell the US it has their support, but are so aware of global public opinion that they want those expressions of support to be kept private. Or there might not be. Of one thing we can be certain. The Realm of New Zealand stands behind the United States in its quest to maintain global hegemony, and is solidly in support of the Israeli genocide in Gaza. In that respect New Zealand is one of a very few and rather nasty states which have abandoned all pretensions to political morality.

So the US and the UK are now bombing Yemen. It is interesting to note that support for the aggression against Yemen is now limited to ten states - the Five Eyes, Bahrain (a nasty little autocracy on the Persian Gulf), Denmark (which provided naval support to Nazi Germany in World War II), Germany (what more needs to be said about Germany?) , the Netherlands (which ran a brutal colonial empire and had a shocking history of collaboration with the Nazi regime) and the Republic of Korea, which is totally beholden to the United States government. (Japan and Singapore seem to have quietly dropped out of the coalition for genocide in Gaza). Yet the Realm of New Zealand is still in with this ugly alliance of colonialist and fascist powers as they double down on the genocide and vent their wrath against the people of Yemen.
