The Nobel Peace Prize has long been another tool used to promote the "superiority" of a particular (western) narrative. I am not sure what i think of this. Is it a new low? Is the "peace" prize being used to promote the justification of a future conflict that will create anything but peace?

Thank you for shining a light on this Mick. Your work exposing these shams to us in the West is vital. Past time for us to stop buying into the Nobel Peace prize.

Great article Mick. Venezuela is another one of those nations like Iraq, Syria, the DPRK, and Cuba, that are high priority targets for regime change because they don't pretend 'israel' is a real country. They certainly want control of the oil, but the lack of oil to steal (and more importantly, to control so they can threaten to cut it off from China) certainly hasn't taken Cuba or the DPRK (which has even sent fighter pilots to assist the cause against the enemy, as well as reportedly providing assistance in weapons manufacturing and fortifications to the resistance) off the high priority targets list.

One more societal Jenga piece removed. It won’t be long before humanity comes crashing down. Wars everywhere. Capitalism destroying people and planet. Politicians doing whatever the fuck they like. Nobel panels compromised. United Nations compromised. Humanity, compromised. Extinction is now a daily event. There is genocide here, ecocide there. Environmental collapse. Systems collapse. Polycrises, metacrises, pick your descriptor.

And the band played Waltzing Matilda. Wow, the myopic are leading the myopic to the cliff’s edge and we’re just watching it happen. War plans, and more war plans, and nuclear sabre rattling. Pedo presidents, corrupt politicians, criminals in control. It’s bloody tiring. Just pull the trigger, hit the buttons, and we may as well get on with it then. I mean history is on my side, conflict is becoming inevitable. Unless some adults with spines step up soon, shit is going to get real. WW1 started with a bullet from an 19 year old Bosnian Serb who wanted his country to be free of Austrian rule. My point, it doesn’t take much and look where we are.

Let's face it this woman who got the peace prize should be in jail for her treasonous acts against her own country.

The only decent fellows nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize:

Jean-Paul Sartre, philosopher and political activist, and

Le Duc Tho, Vietnamese revolutionary and diplomat.

Both rejected it.

Thanks for the commentary Mick. US sanctions have pulverised the people of Venezuela, scattering them through Latin America to live in poverty and persecution. The legitimacy that this fraudulent prize provided in combination with woeful media scrutiny means results in the Venezuelan economic refugees getting blamed for socioeconomic decline in their adopted countries instead of the US and their disgraceful sanction regime.
